Day #38 {Friday}

-Reflection question: How do you imagine Jeremiah is feeling at this point?  How exhausting!

  1. I can't even imagine how Jeremiah is feeling. All these years and still the people don't listen. What struck me in this chapter was the mention and role of the women. They are mentioned six times and they are worshiping other gods without their husbands knowledge. So Jeremiah reminds them of the results of their idol worship. Verse 27 God tells them they will all perish because of their behaviors. Not much hope in this chapter again.

  2. I think Jeremiah had to be literally worn out both physically and mentally. He was delivering the same warnings and advice, over and over again, and yet not seeing any results, as the people still wanted to continue their sinful ways. I wonder if he got discouraged and questioned his mission and purpose. But he was obedient to God and knew that he was called to be a prophet. He was a faithful man in spite of not seeing the fruits of his labor at this time. An encouragement to me to pray for those who don't know the Lord, and hope they will heed his calling eventually.
