Day #31 {Friday}

-Reflection question:
This chapter mentions God's covenant with the people on multiple occasions. How do you understand the new covenant we all have with God through Jesus?

  1. To me, the covenant with God through Jesus Christ means that the Law of the Old Testament has been abolished and we no longer have to do all those rituals and sacrifices. We are free and secure with Christ's dying for us. We can't earn salvation and that is the beauty of Christianity, is that we just need to believe and accept grace. No need to earn our way into heaven and keep striving to get there by doing a long list of requirements. I am reminded of the thief on the cross and how he did not have a good reputation but he he gave his life to Chrisr at the end, and Christ said he would be in paradise. I am so humbled by Christ's amazing grace.

  2. I understand the new covenant to mean that Christ died for my sins and has given me forgiveness for all of my sins so that I can be with him in heaven forever. I have this gift from God if I claim it as mine. There is nothing I can do to earn it, it is a gift. Praise be for God's love and mercy. The people of Judah weren't very good at keeping their covenants, but God will always keep his covenant with us.
