Personal Reflection:
Friends! Thank you so much for your comments in recent days. I'm really glad we've got a good dialogue going. Is the comments feature now working okay for you? If not, please let me know. Sometimes there is a delay, but hopefully it is now working. Thank you for you patience.
Reflection Questions:
1. In 6:10-11, Jeremiah is discouraged. He feels like no one is listening to him. Have you ever had times like that?
2. I really like verse 16! "Thus says the Lord: Stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way lies; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls." This are meaningful words of encouragement to me today. Were there any verses in today's chapter that you found encouraging?

3. As I read the last verse {"for the Lord has rejected them"}, I was really left hurting and confused. It seems SO counter to my understanding of God and grace and forgiveness and love.
I began wondering if the original audience really did feel like God had rejected them even if God really was still in relationship with them and didn't want to give up. In my own understanding of God/theology, I don't believe God rejects anyone. But I do believe there are times when we certainly feel like God has rejected us. Especially during terrible situations and disasters. What do you think?

Wow! I guess I didn't realize how depressing Jeremiah was. God really seems to have it in for the people of Judah. Not that they aren't asking for it. But I agree Emily. These are not images that I see when I see my God.
