Reflection question: This is another Psalm of lament. There are many in this early part of the book of Psalms. The writer begins with a deep plea. Basically, "GOD WHERE ARE YOU!?!? STOP FORGETTING ABOUT ME!" And then transitions to words of gratitude: "I trust. I will sing."
Can you identify in any ways with this Psalmist?
I think we all have times in our life when we feel that God has forgottten about us. I was watching an interview with Rick Warren and his wife last night. They lost their son when he committed suiside. He said that "he never stopped believing or loving God, he did question God's plan for a time." That is a lot of faith. I love the words of gratitude. I try and be thankful for 5 things everyday. It gives your life a different perspective. One of thankfulness for what you have instead of wanting more of everything.
