Mark, Chapter 12

Reflection question: The widow in our gospel text gives away 2 small coins. Jesus says she gave out of her poverty and we can learn much from her. What else does this widow teach us?

  1. I think that what the widow taught us is great character and love and showed that she had a great big heart. This also showed that what she gave wasn't hers to begin with, but was God's. It also teaches that no matter how little we have, we still have enough. It shows her great faith as well. It also showed what was really important to her; that giving is better than receiving.

  2. What this parable has said to me is that if we continue to give to God in what ever way he will take care of us. I have found in my life that when I had little, I always gave to God first and I always had enough for the rest of what I needed. I don't know if I said that very well, but God takes care of us. Even if we give him our all. Giving is better than receiving.
