Day #18 {Saturday}

Reflection Question:

-Jeremiah is in the midst of such challenging times.
He was imprisoned and he feels like his whole life has fallen apart.
If had been a friend of Jeremiah's,
what words of guidance/comfort would you have shared with him?

  1. I think it would have depended on my understanding of God at the time. Since I have seen God's grace through Christ, I might have had a different answer now vs. then. Hopefully I would have been able to validate Jeremiah and his faithfulness to God. I would have told him to stay faithful to the cause, since he was being lead by God and he would not lead him astray. I remember Job's so called friends said to curse God-- I would tell Jeremiah that it is okay to pour out his heart to God and to share his pain honestly, but not to abandon God and what he is directly Jeremiah to do

  2. I think Annie has it right. Jeremiah had a job to do for God and if he didn't speak God's message, "his work is in my hear like a fire." I wonder how God message could burn in me. Verse 13 is a contrast to the rest of the Chapter. It is like a small interlude. One small verse of praise. I agree with Annie that God wants to hear from us no matter what we are feeling, or not feeling.
