Reflection questions:
#1: In the beginning of this chapter, God is weeping for the people.
Do you think God gets sad today? Why?
Do you think God gets sad today? Why?
#2: I like verses 23-24 a lot! How about you?
What do you interpret them to mean?
What do you interpret them to mean?
Yes, I definitely feel that God is sad today at all the evil and disobedience. The people back then worshipped idols and were bound by the law. We are a people today who have Jesus as our example, whereas in the past those people lived before the coming of Christ. Since Christ has come and has taught us grace and how to live as we should, I think it grieves God even more that we have been shown but still walk away from what we know.
ReplyDeleteI, too, like the final verses of the chapter-- if we are
going to "boast" let it be about our personal relationship with God and giving Him the honor through our actions. In other words, we are to let our words show more of him and less of us.
Yes I too think God is sad today. Our world has so much evil and many people don't even think about God unless it is a swear word. I think it is about choices for us too. We choose to suround ourselves with people who do love God and have a personal relationship with him.
ReplyDeleteI do like those verses. A Lord who "exersizes kindness, justice and rightousness on earth." Wow!
