Psalm 7

Reflection question: In what kind of circumstances might this Psalm be helpful to read/pray? I struggle with the violence/vengeance tone of the Psalm- but I do know there are times in life when we do feel very persecuted and long to know God's nearness.

  1. My study bible sheds some light on this Psalm. David is being attacked, and is praying for God to save him. The urgent language in verse 6 shows he wants God to get with it and save him. And then at the end of the chapter he is saying that he will "sing praise" to God when he is saved. I think this shows how we are too. We often wait until we have a need and then pray to God to save/deliver us. Then when he does we "sing praise". I just need to remember to "sing praise" in all things and at all times
